New Patients

Pre-Med:

The following conditions require Pre-Medication with an antibiotic for Dental Appointments to prevent the bacteria present in the mouth from entering your bloodstream. We follow the recommendations of The American Heart Association, The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and The American Dental Association. Any pre-med for conditions not listed below need to be written by your medical doctor.

• Artificial Heart
• Joint Replacement
• Spleen Removal
• Uncontrolled Diabetes
• Replacement of Heart Valve
• History of Endocarditis Infection
• Heart Attack of Stroke within the last 6 months
• Surgery within the last 6 months

If you have any of these conditions, please call us at 319.352.6600 so we can determine
if an antibiotic prescription is necessary prior to your appointments.
